2009-10-17 - Photo finish after amazing catching-up process

After a tough starting phase, the trio Biela, Stuck and Stippler was able to catch up to the 4th overall position. The team nearly missed the platform by few thounsandth seconds after Stippler had made up ground up to 20 seconds per lap in his last turn on the Alzen-Porsche. The capricious weather conditions made a crime series out of the already thrilling race week end.

Stippler: "The decision to change to cut slicks arose out of the heavy rain and the resulting accident of our 2nd Phoenix-R8. This is why we wanted to go the safe way. Making up ground was nevertheless great fun. The car was very fast today."
