24h-Race

2010-05-16 - 2nd starting pos. - dropping out in 2nd pos.
"What a disappointment - in the past two years I dropped out after long hours in the lead. This year we intended to hold out a little bit longer. Unfortunately, after eight hours already, my team-mate Marc Basseng hit a curb unfavourably due to a misunderstanding with a lapped competitor which lead to an oil and water cycle damange at first and afterwards burned the engine."
Stippler wasn't put in in the 2nd and dry qualifying since he should go for the start and the team-mates should do their most possible laps in the R8 at the Nordschleife before the race.
Stippler: "Actually, everything went according to plan just until the dropping out. We had a strategy which we strictly followed although we had been surprised by the strong beginning phase of the Porsche. We were placed 2nd and we lay in wait just till the incident happend. What a pity, the car had been fantastically prepared by the Phoenix team."
