2010-04-24 - Withdrawal after pole position and repeated tyre damages

Stippler had been able to gain the pole position but the Phoenix team already took back the Audi R8 after the first stint with Stippler at the steering wheel. Both sister cars which were running identical tyres had suffered tyre damages at an early stage so that the team decided to take Stippler also out of the race.

Stippler: "This is annoying. So shortly before the 24h-race man and machine are to prepare in the best way possible to the special conditions here on the Nordschleife. We are now lacking these kilometres and have to solve this problem quickly for the main event in two weeks."
