When the first disappointment had blown over, Stuck and Stippler were nevertheless happy about their 2nd position, although both of them led over the complete race. Peter mixed up the whole ranking with a heavy shower 3 laps before the finish of the race. The 1 minute start which the duo had already been made turned into a 0.2 sec. delay against a strong-driving Mamerow.
