2009-10-31 - Seasonal finish on the podium

In the qualifying Stippler drove the fastest ever driven lap time of a R8 on this track. Afterwards, the trio Biela, Basseng and Stippler lost some positions in the starting phase and had to let the lead go without the Phoenix-R8. Indeed, the team was able to move forward to the 3rd place, but in normal circumstances more could have been achieved.

Stippler: "On the one hand, we have lost much time in the starting phase today, on the other hand, we tried something out within the development work, that this time did not work out. Nevertheless, this has been a fine seasonal finish of a fantastic opening year for the Audi R8."
